Painting Hearts: One House at a Time
Our first large-scale project. For 5 days, we renovated 11 homes in two communities, transforming houses and restoring dignity to 40-50+ people. This project marks a milestone in our history and is dedicated to the memory of Christopher Álvarez, who was instrumental in making it happen.
Painting Hearts was our first large-scale project and marked a turning point in the foundation's history. From December 26-30, 2021, a team of over 15 volunteers worked tirelessly to completely renovate 11 homes in Agua de La Palma and Los Derramaderos.
It wasn't just painting - it was a comprehensive renovation that included structural repairs, interior and exterior painting, and improvements to basic living conditions. Seeing the before and after of each home was deeply moving. Some houses were in very difficult conditions, with deteriorated walls, damaged roofs, and weakened structures.
Each renovated house represents a family with more dignity, children with a safer home, and renewed hope. The project directly impacted 40-50+ people, but its effect on the community was much greater - it demonstrated that change is possible and that there are people willing to work for the well-being of others.
This project is dedicated to the memory of Christopher Álvarez, whose spirit of service and commitment was fundamental to making this vision a reality. His legacy lives on in every painted house and every grateful smile.
